Yes, the skeuomorphism of the paperclips and the dog-eared page corners (not demonstrated in the video) seems a bit quaint today, but people understood how they worked immediately. And none of today’s ebook readers matches the extensive and powerful search capabilities we provided for our EBs…not to mention the care we took to make the books lay out properly and dependably (for example, “The Mouse’s Tale” in “The Complete Annotated Alice”).
It is gratifying to see how many of the interface techniques we created back in 1991 are still used today in Kindle and iBooks e-readers.
