The End of the Meal

I was over at Frost Street last night working out a Narration idea with the fellas in Sineparade when the trinity collaboration crew of the next show showed up (Akaash Nihalani, Posterboy, and Ellis Gallagher). No one was quite sure when they were going to, but they did, so suddenly I was rushing to photograph some things and start tearing down the walls. I’m trying to document the dissolve from one show to the next and so far the video looks good, but I’m holding off to see what today brings. Here’s the big trinity of eaters that I shot yesterday. Yesterday Tonight

The day started with enormous Empire rigs banging fifty foot nails into my head and ringing the frost like it was a kick drum, but we shot all the bands and tried to shoot some of the people, but these are my time lapses plus the first broken guitar from frost. I always sing this particular Niel Young song to myself before an opening. Only now do I realize how tragic this song is… but also hopeful. So I suppose that is Frost Bite in a sound bite.

Brooklyn Warming

I came upon this little landscape while walking under the BQE during the recent blizzard. I suppose the salt on the higway melted the snow and it dripped down and refroze here. It reminded me of the Alps and now reminds me of last week when it snowed in this week where it is spring-like warm.

Novel Ideas

My spies in Canada (Aunt and Uncle) sent these snaps of the opening last night at Oakville Galleries. I gather that the curator gave a talk about the show and chose Orson Whales as a kind of lens to focus her discussion on the issues surrounding the show. I was in a bit of a funk yesterday and I have to admit that put a brief smile on my face.

Fasnacht Scroll

This is the last drawing on the long Frost Scroll. Not that the scroll is done, it is meant to be worked into in a collaborative way. Press the image to see it larger.
