All that drawing of Charlot/Hitler made me realize again the clever use of Nazi helmet for darth vader, and how his mask has a sort of mustache on the Damn d’Avingon quality to it. So I just drew Darthitler for the hell of it. It is a great post modern sculpture that mask. We nearly bought a very good version with light saber at Cost Co for the the cutest buddhist, but it fealt wrong to give him anthing associated with the dark side. I’m also doing some sketches from Mr. Arkadin Goya masked ball… THese one are on nice arches paper that I’ve been saving since the beginning of my residency at the Institute.
