{"id":868,"date":"2006-12-20T07:07:44","date_gmt":"2006-12-20T07:07:44","guid":{"rendered":"\/ifbookblog\/?p=868"},"modified":"2006-12-20T07:07:44","modified_gmt":"2006-12-20T07:07:44","slug":"table_of_comments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/futureofthebook.org\/blog\/2006\/12\/20\/table_of_comments\/","title":{"rendered":"table of comments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday <a href=\"http:\/\/chekhovsmistress.com\/\">Bud Parr<\/a> made the following <a href=\"\/blog\/archives\/2006\/12\/thoughts_suggestions.html#c49701\">suggestion<\/a> regarding the design of Mitch Stephens&#8217; networked paper, <a href=\"\/mitchellstephens\/holyofholies\/\">&#8220;The Holy of Holies&#8221;<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I think the site would benefit from something right up front highlighting the most recent exchange of comments and\/or what&#8217;s getting the most attention in terms of comments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It just so happens that we&#8217;ve been cooking up something that does more or less what he describes: a simple <a href=\"\/mitchellstephens\/holyofholies\/?comments\">meta comment page<\/a>, or &#8220;table of comments,&#8221; displaying a running transcript of all the conversations in the site filtered by section. You can get to it from a link on the front page next to the total comment count for the paper (as of this writing there are 93).<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s an interesting way to get into the text: through what people are saying about it.
