MySpace opens a <a href=\"http:\/\/adage.com\/digital\/article?article_id=111684\">music store<\/a> to compete with Apple&#8217;s iTunes and is also considering the  creation of a print <a href=\"http:\/\/technology.guardian.co.uk\/news\/story\/0,,1858259,00.html\">magazine<\/a>.  HarperCollins is <a href=\"\/blog\/archives\/2006\/08\/harper_collins_takes_on_online.html\">selling downloadable media<\/a> on their website.  These are just a few examples.<br \/>\nWhat will the future of media publishing look like? How close are we from having only a few multi-national companies that produce the hardware, media and distribution?  What are the other options?<br \/>\nCould the pendulum ever swing the other way?
