Running around looking at street art in a new way after all that schoolin’ by ellis g.  Also hanging out with Yoav as the street artists pick up their work from the OUT Door Gallery NYC group show to celebrate the publishing of his book of the same name http://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Gallery-New-York-City/dp/1584235535.  Also available at Strand and many of New York’s finer Museum gift shops, so next time you exit through said such same, pick up a copy.  It is a beautiful book full of great documentation of New York’s best street art murals, etc.  If you are a New Yorker there will be one or a hundred of your personal favs.  Also I watched Apox again.  PBR street gang.  Bravo rodger point 5.

Music is a couple of guys playing banjo and fidel from across the tracks at the Metropolitan stop on the L and G. It really created a great vibe. Folks were dancing with eachother from platform to platform. NY is nice in the fall sometimes.

Some paintings I photographed at a PopUp show I had at 17Frost a couple months back. Only getting around to looking at them now. The one above is spray paint on a Do Not Enter sign and those below are expanding polyurethane foam over wire with spraypaint and they are wearable masks made for CAGE, a film we are still editing.

While in a four month fever dream of animating Pain, I also shot some flip vid (much was lost in a tragic language change to French in my interface, but that is a different story) of goings on at Frost, etc. There is some Jillian Salik, some comedy nght, so x box, some editing Cage, and the world premiere of Pain in the garden on an airflow screen.

Things keep getting codified into the opposite of what I wanted from blogging and e publishing in general…. well I’ll have to get over it and see if I can still make some IT IN posts. Right now I have Nostylgia…. which is some sort of graffiti nothingness about dischord as far as I can tell. The video here i just a haze of moments form the year wrapped up to suggest a way of editing a longer movie that seems to have stalled. But we are caged so how do we break out? I don’t know, but, I’m thinkg I finished a short (three month) animation tonight… so life moves on.

POSTERBOY ’09

Sunday marked a great Dream Open Mic at 17 Frost. Here is the stage list from the show, but one of the fun things that seems to happen at open mics is a lot of visiting artists using my animation drawing table to stretch out a bit on the old ink and brushes. New York’s beloved Posterboy stopped by and drew a fabulous Fraud JMB style portrait of yrs truly and so did Brooklyn’s own Painter, Golfer, and Ranconteur Extradinaire, “Can’t Contain Ya” Tom Catania… also drawing yrs trly. Yep thats me playing some of my three (count em) power chords and trying to sing “Helpless”. Also apearing is IRT theater and the always lovely Little Dorit having a swell theatrical style birthday. Yep… I cried a lot this week, but I also wrote my first ever song and showed it at Open Mic… More to come on that.
