I came upon this little landscape while walking under the BQE during the recent blizzard. I suppose the salt on the higway melted the snow and it dripped down and refroze here. It reminded me of the Alps and now reminds me of last week when it snowed in this week where it is spring-like warm.

It snowed and so the world looked better already. I went to see the inauguration at Monkeytown and Obama gave a great speech and the world looked better still. So I went to 17 Frost to try and make the installation look a little better too.

I was also struck at how Cheney in a wheel chair seemed to channel Barrymore as Mr. Potter in Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life:

There was a rainbow around the moon tonight at ten and I ran up to the roof to watch the lunatic clouds flowing by all back lit in a Pink Floyd prism and I was thinking about Rick Wright dying and David Foster Wallace hanging himself from the end of an infinite jest and the stink of sepsis fills the house from the necrotic tumor of my slowly dying dog and it was another day at the vet with free falling finance and the threat of reemergent Republicans buzzing in my ear from my little A.M. radio I use to keep my self from going insane, or it’s opposite. So I thought of the Organ opening to Us and Them from the Dark Side of the Moon and decided to share it with you. A little memorial service from the cathedral of cold front clouds.

I walked around the Chelsea Galleries yesterday… in large part to remind myself why I don’t really enjoy Chelsea Galleries, but it was nice to duck into them when avoiding the spring rains that came and went all afternoon. When I got home I heard the sound of thunder in the gathering dark. It took me a few rumbles to realize it wasn’t thunder, but fireworks and I ran to the roof to see the sky, but most of the action was hidden behind the skyline. Tonight they’re shooting more for the Brooklyn Bridge birthday. Fireworks season is upon us. Even better than street fairs.

Last night I had the strangest dream. I did a painting performance for JFK up in Canada. He didn’t look like JFK and he was too busy with politics to care much about my paintings. I offered him one, but he declined and I sort of agreed with him. One was too loose and the other too stiff. Later I went to some impossible Xanadu of a mall that seemed rendered in digital post production. The place was ornate and enormous and I got separated from my group from the JFK event (I think they were Hong Kong Chinese). I realized I had no idea where I was or how to get back to the hotel when I ended up walking through a sort vice court (like you have a food court in a mall, but this was all liquor and drugs and in the lower depths of the mall). Someone snatched my wallet and I chased him into a bar where the entire cast of characters there began a theatrical negotiation. If I agreed to give them 25% of the cash as a “reward”, they would return the wallet and I could even take part in the drinks they would buy. I didn’t think there were many options and I agreed and a man dressed like a brown leather Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland brought me my wallet and cell phone in paper bag. Someone was looking for me from the event, but I decided to sit down and stay a while with this looking glass menagerie of drunken thieves.

Here are some Collabs from Brian Raszka and The Library Project. He’s taken up my animated gif obsession and when you stack them up like this it really becomes sort of cinematc. This trio is all obsessed with Foreign and American film: Particularly the word play on French New Wave stars Goddard and Truffaut… Which is sort of like God is True or Faux (meaning “fake” in French)?. Brian’s animated finishes come right at a time where Sonja is trying to engage the group in a larger animated story. More on that idea as it happens.

Seems odd given my love of gifs, but no one in the Library has done this obvious gif trick till now. This is Brian Razska finishing my starts. By making an animated gif out of the two stages, Brian lights the way towards a kind of narrative… a motion picture palimpsest . I hope others will play with this idea…. one of my hopes has been that The Library would start becoming a sort of animation bee (like a quilting bee)… ending up with something usable for OMegg.

The other day I posted a flux score by F. Lieberman called . That piece was originaly titled “The Most Dangerous of all Danger-musics For Yoko Ono”. That night I read in a Rolling Stone interview of Yoko’s son, Sean that for a period of a year he woke up every morning by listening to Brian Wilson’s “Our Prayer” . This reminded me of a time when I kept a small shrine in my studio kitchenette… it consisted of various vessels and bodega candles and a box of Land O’ Lakes butter and Argo Corn Startch. It seemed then that God was everywhere and nowhere at the exact same moment. It filled me with the terrible laughter you can only laugh in an empty room all by yourself. After all the danger musics, I thought maybe you needed a good laugh.
